Roller Coaster

Remember how before I said I would not make a roller coaster themed minigame because it was too much work? (I said this in the comments somewhere)

Well apparently I was lying.

This will be minigame 6, and once it’s finished it will (hopefully) be a lot of fun.  I was right about it being a lot of work though.

This pushes back the release for 0.5 a week, so that means plans are for 0.5 to be out in 2-3 weeks from now.

  3. Okay, I think that minigame will be funny. But right now I can only imagine just a ride in a coaster…

    But it’ll be worth the time ;D

  5. Are those slanted sprites or am I just dreaming?

    • Yes those are slanted.

      I had to make 5 variations of the sprites for all the angles.

      • Oh, then I’m dreaming. I meant slanted as in you don’t have to redraw the pixels when you want the image to turn. Very few things have that.

      • You’re talking about Vector graphics, whereas the graphics in Cave Story are Raster graphics. Some programs can handle the rotation of raster images, but I don’t think it’s very easy on the CPU.

        I used RotSprite to help me create the rotated sprites though. Saved me a lot of work since I didn’t have to draw the rotations from scratch.
