They're supposed to find SOS-signals, but lately it's just been gibberish.

Drone: I'm so bored. There hasn't been a signal in weeks. I wish I could play
cave story on this hunk of junk, but this thing's so old that I
can barely run command-line functions on it.

Soldier: Sorry about attacking you earlier. We just thought you were a rogue unit.

Soldier: I like guns. I like guns alot. Do you like guns?

Soldier: Being a soldier is okay, but we don't get much living space. We get better
pay than the drones though. Still, must be relaxing to be a drone...

Soldier: We have lots of arms and ammunitions here. Feel free to take what you like.

Soldier: With most of the railways shut down, it takes longer to get places now.
Some of the rails are completely inaccessible. Be sure you don't fall, or you might

Curly: Riiigght... By the way I'm CBSM16, Curly Brace Security manager 16.
What's your name?
Quote: To be honest, I don't know.
Curly: What do you mean?
Quote: Well you see, often in scenarios the main character has amnesia and....
Curly: What?
>え?
Quote: Just, nevermind.
Curly: So I guess you're wondering what's going on.
Quote: That'd be about right.
Curly: Well, I can tell you where we are for starters. Right now, we're in the STARS.
Quote: The STARS?
>STARS?
Curly: Yeah, it's an acronym. It's short for the Space Transit And Railway System.
Quote: Well, I've never heard of this place before...
Curly: Yeah, well you don't seem to know a lot of things. Also, this is my outpost.
I'm sure you've seen my troops before.
Quote: Yes, at least they're not attacking me this time.
Curly: Ahh yes, at the time I had them positioned in the Pipefield there so they
could stop Excerpt if he tried to get through there. When they saw you they must
have thought you were him.
Quote: Excerpt?
Curly: Yeah, he's a Rogue Unit. He doesn't have a valid digital signature, so
he must be brought in.
Quote: What about you? Why were you headed to, well, wherever we were.
Curly: Oh, you mean the Internal Source? I had received a tip that he
was heading there, so I decided set up the security system there.
When I saw you, I thought you were him.
Quote: He doesn't look that much like me, does he?
Curly: Looking at you closer now, no. But it was pretty dark in the
Internal Source, and I had to be ready to react if I caught him.
Quote: And what was that thing he said he was planning to release the seal on?
Curly: Oh, you mean Interrobang?
Quote: Yeah, what's that?
Curly: You mean WHO's that. To be honest, it's a long story.
Quote: That's okay, I have time.
Curly:...Alright...
>…そう…

Curly: Interrobang was originally the leader of the security squads.
Since she was our leader, she had administrative powers.
She became corrupted though, and was mad with power.
Curly: She could channel energy directly from the pipes, making her
nearly indestructible.
Curly: She wreaked havoc in the generator core, destroying anything in her path.
Curly: We had lost many soldiers thanks to her. It was decided that she
would be sealed in the internal source, to prevent another disaster.
>

Curly: And that's the story behind Interrobang.
Quote: Why would you keep her in the internal source? Wouldn't that make it
easier for her to regain power?
Curly: Sealing someone like her isn't easy. It takes a lot of energy to keep her
restrained.
Quote: I see, so what now?
Curly: Now that Excerpt's freed Interrobang, he'll probably head back to the
control tower.
Quote: And you know this, how?
Curly: Well, um.... I'm a security manager, so I have to keep track of where
he's headed.
Quote: Okay, that makes sense.
Curly: We should get there before he does. Who knows what he'll be capable of
if he gets there with interrobang...
Quote: Alright, sounds like a plan.
Curly: Let's go!

Secret Mission 4: Mine Field.

Curly: Hey! Hurry up!
早く!

Curly: C'mon, we've got to get to the Rail Way if we're going to go to the
Control Tower.

Soldier: Wait! Curly, there's been a report of a dead drone found in the lower network.
Curly: Crap. Looks like you'll have to go on by yourself.
Quote: And take on Excerpt by myself?
Curly: Don't worry, I'll catch up to you in a bit. All you have to do is
climb the Communication Towers, then go along the Rail Ways until you
get to Snowball Valley.
Quote: Snowball Valley?
Curly: Yea we have to go through there to get to the control tower. Here,
take my cell phone number. If you run into any trouble, give me a call.
You can call me by opening up your inventory and using it.
I'll meet you at the entrance to Snowball Valley.
Oh and take this too.
Got the =Bubbler 2.0=!

Curly: Your pistol looks a little shabby, maybe you can use these.

Curly: Hey, whatcha need?
Quote: Oh, um, nothing, just calling to say hi.
Curly: Okay... o.o hi....
>そう…o.o。またね…

Your cell phone is ringing...
Quote: Hey.
Curly: Hey, I just wanted to warn you about a few things on your way
up the Comm Towers. Those railings there are very flimsy, and
it's easy to lose your step or miss them completely. If you
try to walk on them, you'll most likely end up falling into the spikes.
Quote: Okay, thanks for the tip.
Curly: Also most of the creatures or machines can walk on the rails, so be
careful.
Quote: Okay, got it.

Curly: Hey.
Quote: Hey, I don't get exactly what, well, the Communcation
Towers do. They just look like big towers made of iron.
Curly: Oh that's just the exterior, on the inside are billions
of nodes, linked to each other and such. It acts as a giant
computer, and allows for the robots' to communicate between
each other with various devices.
Quote: So, there are other communication devices besides the cell phone
that are used here?
Curly: Yeah, some of the robots use holographic devices for a more
interactive experience. Plus daily news bulletins and reports
are also stored in the Towers.
Quote: Wow, so these things are pretty important then?
Curly: You got that right.

Curly: Hey.
Quote: Hey, what are these blue creatures that are hopping all around the Towers?
Curly: Oh, those are C-84's, there's been somewhat of an outbreak of them recently.
Quote: C-84's?
>c84?
Curly: Yeah, they're small creatures that are attracted to large sources
of power. Since the Communication Towers use a lot of power, it's only
natural that they'd gather there. It's unusual for there
to be so many around there, maybe something's happened to the Clean Up crew near
there. Watch your back, it seems suspicious.
Quote: Okay, will do.

Curly: Hey.
Quote: Hey, why are there so many spikes around the Towers?
Curly: Oh, well those are externalized nodes on the Tower. Since they generate
a lot of heat, they're externalized so they won't overheat.
Quote: Why are they so, dangerous?
Curly: If they weren't shaped that way, the C-84's would eat them, which would cause
a lot of data corruption.
Quote: Oh, that makes sense, I guess. Still, couldn't they be out of the way,
instead of on the path up the tower?
Curly: Hey, don't ask me, I didn't design the tower. Just try to be careful, okay?
Quote: Alright.

Turn on Switch?
Switch on.

A robot, or what's left of it. Looks like it was torn to shreds...

Another destroyed bot. He's got a large wound in his chest...

This one's torn to pieces too. How many of them are there?

More destroyed robots. Who, or what could do such a thing?

Your cell phone is ringing...
Quote: Hello?
Mr.X: I don't trust her...
Quote: What?
>え?
Mr.X: I'm just saying things don't seem quite right.
The line is dead...

Hold the "jump" key to fly higher!

Your cell phone is ringing...
Quote: Hey.
Curly: Are you at the Rail Way yet?
Quote: Yeah I just got here.
Curly: Okay good, there's a couple of things there I want warn you about.
First off, you see those big tank like machines on the Rails?
Quote: Yeah.
Curly: Well these are the old Rail Engines. It'll hurt if you touch the spikes at
its front, but you can ride them to navigate the Rail Way.
Also make sure that you don't hurt or damage them, or they'll
malfunction and go berserk.
Quote: What exactly happens if I do damage them?
Curly: Well normally they just increase dramatically in speed, with small
explosions and such. It's much easier to fall off of them when they're
berserk.
Quote: Okay, got it.

Curly: Hey, what's up?
Quote: Not much, I'm just wondering why the Rail Way is so disorganized.
Curly: Oh well due to the recent number of Rogue Units, there's been a
lot of guerrilla warfare, and construction units haven't had the time
to fix up the Rails. Plus the system's been a lot more glitchy
recently, so some parts of the Rail Ways might be rearranged completely.
Quote: The system?
Curly: Yeah, it's what keeps this whole world together. You didn't know that?
Quote: Nope.
Curly: Well you do now.

Curly: Hey.
Quote: Why are there red springs everywhere? It feels like I'm in a
Sonic the Hedgehog game.
Curly: Sonic the Hedgehog?
Quote: ... just nevermind that why are there springs everywhere?
Curly: Oh they're what the maintenance drones use to move around.
They're really good at jumping, and the springs can launch them pretty far.
Quote: Doesn't it seem just a little, well you know, dangerous?
Curly: Jeez, don't be such a scaredy cat, I can get through there with
my eyes closed you know.
Quote: Oh I'm so sure...

Curly: Hey.
Quote: These train things take forever to get anywhere, is there any way to
speed them up?
Curly: Well if you're really in a hurry, you could try damaging them.
It's a bit dangerous, but it'd definitely would make them go faster.
Quote: Really? Sweet.
Curly: Hey hey that doesn't mean you should do anything rash now.
Quote: Don't worry, I can look after myself.

Quote: Well, that was pretty close back there... What the...?

Quote: Ohhhh, now where am I?

Sign: Hello, I am the incredibly helpful sign! If you follow my
instructions, you might be able to escape the system matrix.
If you go the right way, I will say "Right." If you go the wrong way, I
will have to say "Wrong." But what's the likelihood of that -$%*a...
Also, for your convenience and safety, I have done my best to nerf your weapons.

...the sign is gone.

...She doesn't pick up

Interrobang: Well well, what do we have here?
Quote: Who are you?
Interrobang: "Who are you?" Are you serious? Hah, if only a simplistic
mind such as yours could see what is lying right before your very eyes,
maybe you would have had a chance to flee. But no, no you know
nothing, and I doubt you have the intuition required to undo the
misfortune you have placed upon yourself."
Quote: ...what?
>…何?
Interrobang: Hah, your failure to grasp the context of my words is further proof
of your horrible incompetence. Do you have no recollection of your
former self?
Quote: ...Not, really...
Interrobang: Then this is pointless banter. I've had my fill, BEGONE!

Interrobang: Hmmm, well this is unexpected...Still, you don't have much time...

Curly: C'mon, let's go! What took you so long to get here?
Quote: I ran into some, well, difficulties...
Curly: Well c'mon we've got no time to lose.

    nearly indestructible.
Curly: She wreaked havoc in the generator core, destroying anything in her path.
Curly: We had lost many soldiers thanks to her. It was decided that she
would be sealed in the internal source, to prevent another disaster.
    >

Curly: And that’s the story behind Interrobang.
Quote: Why would you keep her in the internal source? Wouldn’t that make it
easier for her to regain power?
Curly: Sealing someone like her isn’t easy. It takes a lot of energy to keep her
    restrained.
Quote: I see, so what now?
Curly: Now that Excerpt’s freed Interrobang, he’ll probably head back to the
    control tower.
Quote: And you know this, how?
Curly: Well, um…. I’m a security manager, so I have to keep track of where
    he’s headed.
    Quote: Okay, that makes sense.
Curly: We should get there before he does. Who knows what he’ll be capable of
if he gets there with interrobang…
Quote: Alright, sounds like a plan.
    Curly: Let’s go!

    Secret Mission 4: Mine Field.

    Curly: Hey! Hurry up!
早く!

Curly: C’mon, we’ve got to get to the Rail Way if we’re going to go to the
    Control Tower.

Soldier: Wait! Curly, there’s been a report of a dead drone found in the lower network.
Curly: Crap. Looks like you’ll have to go on by yourself.
Quote: And take on Excerpt by myself?
Curly: Don’t worry, I’ll catch up to you in a bit.
I’ll meet you at the entrance to Snowball Valley.
    Oh and take this too.
    Got the =Bubbler 2.0=!

Curly: Your pistol looks a little shabby, maybe you can use these.

    Curly: Hey, whatcha need?
Quote: Oh, um, nothing, just calling to say hi.
    Curly: Okay… o.o hi….
    >そう…o.o。またね…

    Your cell phone is ringing…
    Quote: Hey.
Curly: Hey, I just wanted to warn you about a few things on your way
up the Comm Towers. Those railings there are very flimsy, and
it’s easy to lose your step or miss them completely. If you
try to walk on them, you’ll most likely end up falling into the spikes.
Quote: Okay, thanks for the tip.
Curly: Also most of the creatures or machines can walk on the rails, so be
    careful.
    Quote: Okay, got it.

    Curly: Hey.
Quote: Hey, I don’t get exactly what, well, the Communcation
Towers do. They just look like big towers made of iron.
Curly: Oh that’s just the exterior, on the inside are billions
of nodes, linked to each other and such. It acts as a giant
computer, and allows for the robots’ to communicate between
    each other with various devices.

Curly: Oh, those are C-84’s, there’s been somewhat of an outbreak of them recently.
    Quote: C-84’s?
    >c84?
Curly: Yeah, they’re small creatures that are attracted to large sources
of power. Since the Communication Towers use a lot of power, it’s only
natural that they’d gather there. It’s unusual for there
to be so many around there, maybe something’s happened to the Clean Up crew near
there. Watch your back, it seems suspicious.
    Quote: Okay, will do.

    Curly: Hey.
Quote: Hey, why are there so many spikes around the Towers?
Curly: Oh, well those are externalized nodes on the Tower. Since they generate
a lot of heat, they’re externalized so they won’t overheat.
Quote: Why are they so, dangerous?
Curly: If they weren’t shaped that way, the C-84’s would eat them, which would cause
    a lot of data corruption.
Quote: Oh, that makes sense, I guess. Still, couldn’t they be out of the way,
instead of on the path up the tower?
Curly: Hey, don’t ask me, I didn’t design the tower. Just try to be careful, okay?
    Quote: Alright.

    Turn on Switch?
    Switch on.

A robot, or what’s left of it. Looks like it was torn to shreds…

Another destroyed bot. He’s got a large wound in his chest…

This one’s torn to pieces too. How many of them are there?

More destroyed robots. Who, or what could do such a thing?

    Your cell phone is ringing…
    Quote: Hello?
    Mr.X: I don’t trust her…
    Quote: What?
Mr.X: I’m just saying things don’t seem quite right.
    The line is dead…

Hold the “jump” key to fly higher!

    Your cell phone is ringing…
    Quote: Hey.
Curly: Are you at the Rail Way yet?
Quote: Yeah I just got here.
Curly: Okay good, there’s a couple of things there I want warn you about.
First off, you see those big tank like machines on the Rails?
    Quote: Yeah.
Curly: Well these are the old Rail Engines. It’ll hurt if you touch the spikes at
its front, but you can ride them to navigate the Rail Way.
Also make sure that you don’t hurt or damage them, or they’ll
    malfunction and go berserk.
Quote: What exactly happens if I do damage them?
Curly: Well normally they just increase dramatically in speed, with small
explosions and such. It’s much easier to fall off of them when they’re
    berserk.
    Quote: Okay, got it.

    Curly: Hey, what’s up?
Quote: Not much, I’m just wondering why the Rail Way is so disorganized.
Curly: Oh well due to the recent number of Rogue Units, there’s been a
lot of guerrilla warfare, and construction units haven’t had the time
to fix up the Rails. Plus the system’s been a lot more glitchy
recently, so some parts of the Rail Ways might be rearranged completely.
    Quote: The system?
Curly: Yeah, it’s what keeps this whole world together. You didn’t know that?
    Quote: Nope.
    Curly: Well you do now.

    Curly: Hey.
Quote: Why are there red springs everywhere? It feels like I’m in a
    Sonic the Hedgehog game.
    Curly: Sonic the Hedgehog?
Quote: … just nevermind that why are there springs everywhere?
Curly: Oh they’re what the maintenance drones use to move around.
They’re really good at jumping, and the springs can launch them pretty far.
Quote: Doesn’t it seem just a little, well you know, dangerous?
Curly: Jeez, don’t be such a scaredy cat, I can get through there with
    my eyes closed you know.
    Quote: Oh I’m so sure…
